In addition to the general NYSCAS admission requirements, those who wish to enroll in any of the radiography program must also meet certain technical standards and:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years old by December 31st of the admission year.
- Graduate from an accredited high school or equivalent.
- Take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). TEAS is a timed test administered by NYSCAS at the close of the admissions process (after March 31st). TEAS examinations administered at Touro University are free of charge. The focus of the test is to assess a candidate’s knowledge of Reading, Mathematics, Science, as well as English and Language usage. Scores on the TEAS exam are used in the application review process.
- Take a Math and General Science test provided by the program and achieve a score at or above the 50th percentile.
- Complete an interview with the Program Admissions Committee to evaluate qualifications.
- Applicants not possessing an Associate's Degree, AAS, must be able to complete the minimum degree requirements at Touro.
- Pay a non-refundable $60.00 application. (See NYSCAS fee schedule for other applicable fees).
The interview plays a crucial role in assessing an applicant’s communication skills, problem solving, suitability for a health career, and personal qualities.

FAQs About the Radiography Program
Can I work while in the program?
This program is a full-time, day time program, with tutoring and lab practice in the evenings. To help you succeed in the program, we strongly recommend that you do not work while you’re in the program.
Are classes online?
A couple of general education courses – the courses that are available for transfer credits – can be taken online (e.g. College Writing, College Math). All other radiography classes are in person.
I already have a bachelor’s degree and want to become a radiologic technologist. What do I need to do?
If you already have an undergraduate degree (associate’s or bachelor’s) from a US institution you can apply for our certificate track. The radiography program is cohort based, so it will still take you the same time to complete the program, but your first semester will be lighter as there are four classes you will not need to take (see the plan of study for specifics.) The total number of credits you’ll take in the certificate program is 64.5, compared to 74.5 credits for the associate’s degree. If you have a degree from outside the United States you need to check with us to verify and assess if you meet the requirements for the certificate program. Email medical.imaging@touro.edu.
I’m a licensed radiologic technician without an associate’s degree and want to get my associate’s degree.
We have a 24-credit AAS completion program for licensed radiographer to get their associate’s degree.
Can I transfer credits into the NYSCAS radiography program?
The only courses that can be transferred in are the two general education courses (college writing and college math). Credits must be equivalent to Touro credit hours, they must be taken within the last 5 years, you must have received a grade of C or above, and they must adhere to Touro’s Undergraduate Transfer Credit Policy.
Transferring credits for these courses can make your load that semester easier, but as our program is lockstep and cohort based, it does not change how quickly you progress or when you graduate.
