Olga Tune was born in the former USSR and graduated from the Pedagogical Institute in Minsk, Belarus. She graduated with honors, majoring in Literature and Linguistics. After graduation, she worked as a language and literature teacher in high school. In 1973, she immigrated to America with her family. She obtained a teacher’s license and started working at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn. She completed an M.A. at NYU in Linguistics and Literature and was appointed to South Shore High School as an ELL Teacher and ELL Lab Coordinator. She then completed an M.S. from LIU’s Department of ESL, majoring in Language Acquisition and Methodology.  In 1992, she began her career as an adjunct professor at Touro College. Tune combines academic content with personal experience to ensure that her students receive the highest quality education to enable them to become successful professionals.
