Robert Thompson came to New York from Wisconsin in 1983 to earn a Master in Fine Arts at Brooklyn College.  He received his Ph.D. in English from The City University of New York Graduate Center in 1997.  A book of his poetry, City of Water, was published by Ahadada Press in 2008.  Since 1998, Dr. Thompson has been at Touro's New York School of Career and Applied Studies as full time faculty member, teaching college composition and literature, including “Women in Fiction,” “ American Literature,” “ Emergence of Modern Literature,”  and “Multi-Cultural Literature.”  He bicycles to class throughout the year, even in winter.
