Rochester, New York born and raised, Professor Stewart holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the City University of New York (CUNY). Professor Stewart’s tenure with Touro College started in 1989, and he has since taught classes at every Touro location throughout the New York City boroughs.

Professor Stewart began his teaching career at the Kindergarten level and taught primary grades thereafter. Expanding on his early successes, Professor Stewart taught in the elementary and secondary grades developing an endearment for working with all age groupings. Professor Stewart’s greatest reward and biggest challenge has been working with the Salvation Army as Director of its Early Childhood Division. This experience prepared him as an Early Childhood Consultant with the New York City Health Department.

While there have been many important changes in the field of education, Professor Stewart’s love for the challenge remains undaunted.
