Dr. Simone Lomax worked as an adjunct professor before joining Touro University as an associate professor in December 2020. Since her time at  Touro,  she has served as an instructor for fundamentals,  pharmacology, community service, and as a  course coordinator of Medical-Surgical 1 and Medical-Surgical 2. She is currently the instructor for Maternal Child Health and course coordinator  for Maternal Child Health and Medical Surgical 2 . 

 

She is a board-certified women's health nurse practitioner currently specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. As a registered nurse and nurse practitioner, she has spent the bulk of her career working in maternal child health, which she is truly passionate about. Her academic training includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Hampton University, A Masters in Nursing from  SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Chatham University. Outside of these affairs, she has had the opportunity to serve as a panelist at the New York State Association of Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic & Asian Legislators Inc. 51st Annual Legislate Conference in Albany NY: Black Maternal Health In Context: A Macro Perspective, Queen's Borough President Donovan Richards, Jrs 1st Inaugural Black Maternal Health Week panel, Minority Voices Prosper (MVP) Health Care Panel and The Central Nassau Club-Let’s Talk Maternal Mortality.
