Riratou Lamarre is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Touro College. She holds a PsyD in Human & Organizational Psychology from Touro University Worldwide.
She has several years of experience as an Adjunct Faculty and has a good track record for delivering the highest standards of instruction. Prior to joining Touro College nearly ten years ago, Ms. Lamarre had been an Adjunct Faculty at CUNY after receiving her Master Degree in Social Organizational Psychology from Columbia University in 2001. In 2016, she received the President’s Adjunct Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching.
One of her main objectives has been -and still is to enable students to achieve their academic goals, by scaffolding, motivating, and encouraging them to work hard for a successful future. She is always looking for the opportunity to fully contribute to the department. Under the leadership of the department Chair, she played a major role in the introduction of MINDTAP, CENGAGE teaching platform that utilizes technology to promote student engagement. Along with one of her colleagues, she was awarded a Faculty Innovation Grant from CETL to update and enhance the OpenStax textbook, as well as develop a new effective teaching model that promotes learning and long-term retention.
One of her special interests focuses on the psychology of minority immigrants and how the systemic structures of the US play a role in their pursuit of life and career success and satisfaction.
Her interests are not limited to academics, she loves to travel to experience different cultures, and is fluent in several languages. She is also a member of international and local organizations, where she works to help improve the lives of minorities in her community.
