Fleischmann has been working at Touro College since 1988. She began as a resource center coordinator and soon thereafter became a full time instructor of ESL and writing. Prior to that, she taught ESL in an adult education program and then for the NYC Board of Ed. She received her B.A. from Yeshiva University and M.A. in in ESL from NYU in 1978. Five of her six children attended Touro College and continued their education, earning advanced graduate degrees. Touro College has been a major part of her life for many years.
