“I Wish I Could Help in This Crisis”
This past January, Regina Malkiev—a senior student at NYSCAS—received a letter she had very much hoped to receive: her acceptance to Columbia University’s School of Nursing. She was admitted to both the Master’s and the Doctor of Nursing Practice programs, and was awarded the school’s merit-based Seamless Scholarship, as well as a needs-based scholarship.
From NYSCAS to New York Medical College
Grigori Vaserman (NYSCAS '15) is currently in his first year at New York Medical College’s School of Medicine. Back at NYSCAS, he received the Excellence in Biology Award, as well as the Service Award for his biology research and for voluntarily tutoring other students.

Abheri was born in Bangladesh and moved to New York a decade ago. She’s a second-year student at NYSCAS, where she’s studying Human Services. At Touro and in New York she is known for being the model of a NYSCAS advertisement that can be seen on subway cars and on buses around the city. At Touro, she also works in the admissions office at the Neptune Avenue location through the Work Study program. She is the mother of a 6-year-old girl named Arushi.

Dr. Sabra Brock’s passion is to "connect education with the workplace—the workplace of today and tomorrow." Before starting her career in academia, Dr. Brock held leadership positions at several international corporations, such as Citicorp, Colgate-Palmolive, and DuPont. In 2014, she was listed as one of the "Top Women in Business" by the Queens Courier.

Susan De Castro often tells her students not to delete their first graphic design and art projects. She encourages them to keep them, so that by the end of the semester, they can see how much they have progressed. When they compare their most recent work with their first efforts, they’re always astonished, she says.
