The Application Process in 4 Simple Steps
Step 1: Complete your application.
Fill out our online application. It’s a straightforward and a key step to getting on your way to a college degree.
Step 2: Submit your transcripts.
Send official transcripts from your high school and any colleges you've attended. We'll let you know what credits transfer over. Within the application you can also upload your unofficial transcripts for a quick evaluation.
Step 3: Schedule your interview.
Talk with an admissions counselor about your goals. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn how NYSCAS can support your success.
Step 4: Apply for financial aid.
Fill out the FAFSA to see what aid you qualify for. Our financial aid team can guide you through every step and help you understand your options.
Start When the Time is Right for You
Most NYSCAS programs accept students year ’round. Our rolling admissions process means you can:
- Apply when you’re ready.
- Start planning your future without waiting months for an answer.
- Start in fall, spring, or summer terms.
One exception: Our competitive medical imaging programs have a special deadline. The radiography and sonography programs accept applications from Dec. 1 to March 31 for fall enrollment.

NYSCAS is proud that we’re able to keep our tuition competitive with other colleges in New York City. But cost shouldn’t be the only factor in your decision. Our financial aid team will help you find the financial support you need to make college more affordable.
Aid Options that Work for You
NYSCAS students can access:
- Federal aid that doesn’t require repayment (grants) or offers low interest rates (loans).
- New York State Tuition Assistance if you are a state resident, though Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and Enhanced Tuition Awards (ETA).
- Work-study opportunities that let you earn money while gaining practical experience.
- Grants and scholarships from Touro and other organizations or foundations.
- Payment plans that spread your costs across the semester.

Transfer Students
Already have some college experience? We welcome transfer students. You'll need to complete at least 24 credits at NYSCAS for a certificate or associate degree, and 45 credits for a bachelor's degree.
Our admissions team works hard to help you maximize the credits you've already earned:
- Flexible evaluation: We'll assess your coursework and let you know how it applies to your chosen program.
- Minimum transfer guarantee: Associate degree holders can apply at least 60 transfer credits to a NYSCAS degree.
- Academic planning: Meet with department chairs to see how your credits can apply toward your major.
International Students
Students from around the world choose NYSCAS for our supportive environment, career-focused programs, and location in the heart of New York City.
What you'll need:
- Completed application and high school diploma (or equivalent).
- English proficiency scores (TOEFL Code: 2902, IELTS, or Duolingo) if English isn't your first language.
- Affidavit of support showing financial resources.
International students who apply independently may qualify for reduced tuition:
- 15% discount for your first 24 credits.
- 30% discount after completing 24 credits.
Nondegree Options
Want to test the waters before committing to a full program? Interested in taking prerequisites for graduate school? Our nonmatriculated student option lets you:
- Take up to 9 credits a semester without signing up for a degree program.
- Get to know NYSCAS’ caring professors and make use of our support services.
- Earn credits that may apply to a future degree.
