Through regular meetings with Career Services, our counselors will guide you on and help you with:

Working with Handshake
The Handshake platform is one of the best ways for college students to research, engage with employers, find jobs and internships. Once you create a profile, Handshake sends you opportunities that match your interests. Many big companies, including all Fortune 500 businesses, hire through Handshake. As you browse the app, you’ll see the best jobs and internships available to you. Recruiters can also find your profile and message you, making your job search even easier! If you want access to top job options, Handshake is the place to start.

Maksim Paliyev, BS
Director of Career Services
Maks Paliyev earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration/Network Administration from Touro in 2003.
As Director of Career Services, Maks works closely with students on career planning, resume building, interview preparation, career fair readiness, and finding job and internship opportunities.
He firmly believes that determination and preparation are the keys to success, and he has helped hundreds of NYSCAS graduates successfully launch their careers.
Each semester, he helps students secure internships in a wide range of fields, including Human Services, Computer Science, Business Management, Accounting, Marketing, and Psychology.

Kayla Elberg, MA
Assistant Director of Career Services
Kayla Elberg has a background in talent acquisition and development, as well as leadership development. She helps students build strong resumes and hone their interview skills, and navigate career development, job readiness, and professional growth.
As someone who has experienced the challenges and opportunities of being an international student, Kayla understands firsthand what it means to navigate education and career planning in a new country. She is especially passionate about supporting students from diverse backgrounds as they pursue their academic and professional goals.
Kayla’s approach is rooted in empathy, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of workplace dynamics. She hopes to build confidence and empower students,to take actionable steps toward their professional aspirations. A strong workplace must start with the right people in the right jobs.
