Six Students, Six Routes to Nursing

Before entering Touro’s first accelerated nursing cohort, these six students had worked on ambulances, in hospitals, in telecommunications, finance and law. Their reasons for changing course are just as varied. One followed a younger sister into nursing; another spent years helping care for his 91-year-old grandmother. One had wanted to become a nurse all along, while another simply realized the career he had chosen wasn’t the one he wanted. Now they’re bringing those experiences with them into the classroom.
