Get your BS/PharmD in seven years with this 3+4 accelerated track.
A joint pathway of NYSCAS and Touro College of Pharmacy (TCOP), the pharmacy fast track allows you to earn a bachelor's and a PharmD degree in less time, and at a lower cost.
Highlights:
- Thirty credits of graduate-level courses count towards both the Bachelor’s and PharmD degrees
- Shorten the time and expense towards earning your PharmD degree
Requirements
- Minimum cumulative and science GPA: 3.0
- Candidates are required to submit three letters of recommendation:
- One from a healthcare professional or research supervisor
- One from a science professor from whom you earned a grade
- One from the Pre-health Advisor
- Applicants must submit a PharmCAS application and participate in the TCOP Interview Day process
- Applicants must complete all NYSCAS degree requirements. You’ll need to meet with the NYSCAS representative to make sure you’re on track with both NYSCAS and TCOP requirements.
- Completed prerequisite coursework. At the time of enrollment at TCOP you are required to have completed a minimum of 90 undergraduate credits. They must include these prerequisite courses:
- Biology with lab (8 credits)
- General chemistry with lab (8 credits)
- Organic chemistry with lab (8 credits)
- Microbiology with lab (4 credits)
- Anatomy and Physiology I AND II, each with lab (EACH 4 credits, total 8 credits)
Physics with lab (4 credits) - Biochemistry (3 credits)
- Calculus (3 credits)
- Economics (micro, macro or general accepted) (3 credits)*
- English Composition (3 credits)
- English Oral Communication/Public Speaking/Speech (3 credits)
- Humanities (6 credits of English Literature/History, Philosophy, Ethics)
- Social/Behavioral Science (6 credits of Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology)
*We will accept these additional courses to fulfill the economics requirement: Principles of Business Management, Principles of Marketing, E-commerce, Principles of Finance, Multinational Management, Introduction to Marketing, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Managerial Finance, Operations Management, Accounting.
