Prof. Angeliki Leventis is a criminologist whose expertise centers on financial crime and terrorism. She holds a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice, specializing in Criminology, from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York (CUNY). She further advanced her academic credentials with a second Master of International Affairs, focusing on International Economic Policy and Financial Crime, from Columbia University’s School of International & Public Affairs (SIPA). Prof. Leventis began her academic journey at Bernard M. Baruch College, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a specialization in Finance and Investments.
In 2012, Prof. Leventis became a full-time faculty member in the Department of Sociology at Touro University. In this role, she teaches a range of courses in criminal justice and the social sciences. She was instrumental in the development and authorship of the curricula for the Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and Paralegal Studies program.
Additionally, she held the position of Academic Director for the Criminal Justice program, demonstrating her leadership and dedication to academic excellence. Before joining Touro University, Prof. Leventis gained valuable professional experience as an Auditor/Analyst for the U.S. Congress and served as a Fraud Investigator for the New York City Office of Revenue and Investigation.
In addition to her academic commitments, Prof. Leventis has acted as a consultant for various international organizations. Her consulting work has primarily addressed critical issues such as economic crime, money laundering, terrorism financing, and corruption, reflecting her commitment to global security and justice.
