Professor Infante is a poet, writer and educator from Brooklyn, New York. He earned a B.A. in English and an M.F.A in Creative Writing, both from Long Island University, and won the Esther Hynemen Award for Poetry in 2012. Joe, as he is known by most around campus, teaches college writing courses and is the Resource Center Coordinator at the Avenue J and Starrett City campuses.
Outside of Touro, Professor Infante is one of the founders and managing editors at Overpass Books, a small press publishing poetry, fiction, and art. He was an editor of The Otter, a bi-monthly online magazine dedicated to poetry, fiction, art, and more. He is the author of ways of dying naked in mexico city, a collection of poems, and has additionally published several poems in Brooklyn Paramount, Poems by Sunday, and other publications.
