Russell Hirsch has been teaching since 1984.  He holds a B.A. in English Literature (1980) and an M.A. in English Education (1991) from New York University.  He started teaching at Touro in 1993, served as Director of Testing from 1994 through 2009, and now teaches full time.  Mindful of the organic nature of language and of the various jargons used in contemporary life, his teaching reflects his interest in helping his students navigate these modalities appropriately, and master the form of English appropriate to academic and professional life.
