Emilya Gutman has been a full-time professor at Touro College since 1990. The scope of her professional expertise ranges from teaching ESL and college writing classes to giving various literature courses. Professor Gutman has a combined BA/MA degree in teaching English from Far East State University in Vladivostok, Russia. She also holds an MA degree in TESOL from NYU and an MA in English with a concentration in English and American Literature from the CUNY Graduate Center, New York. Together with Lina Maltser, Professor Gutman co-authored two textbooks: American English: We Talk Business and American Idioms and Slang. In her free time, Professor Gutman enjoys traveling, writing poetry, and hosting family and friends.
