Dr. Shevonba Graham is a family nurse practitioner serving in community health within underserved neighborhoods of New York City. With over 13 years of experience in medical-surgical care, cardiology, obstetrics, women’s health, psychiatry, community health, and primary care, she has developed extensive expertise. She also works as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Touro University in New York City. Her academic background includes a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Chamberlain University in Chicago, and she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Northeastern University. Dr. Graham obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Mount Saint Vincent. 

Dr. Graham is dedicated to educating nurses and supporting the nursing community. Over the past decade, she has been active in academia, holding various faculty positions across nursing programs in New York City. Currently, she is part of the nursing faculty at Touro University, and has worked on implementing innovative, evidence-based methods in curriculum design, assessment, and evaluation which has seen improved NCLEX-RN scores. This initiative has rejuvenated the prelicensure nursing program. Additionally, she chairs the quality and evaluation committee, where she ensures faculty use the most current, evidence-based exams, oversees peer and leadership evaluations, and ensures program assessments meet regulatory standards. 

In 2023, Dr. Graham shifted her focus to community health, delivering accessible and effective healthcare to those in greatest need. As a nurse practitioner, she embraces a holistic approach and coordinates personalized care in clients' homes. Her team has successfully performed diabetic hemoglobin A1C and retina Vue testing during home visits, ensuring care is based on the results. She remains committed to enhancing client outcomes in clinical settings and emphasizes the importance of these outcomes for nurse practitioners. This dedication led her to serve as a content expert for the family nurse practitioner exam.
