Dr. Jill C. Maggs is a higher education leader, educator, and scholar with more than two decades of experience in academic affairs, enrollment management, and student success. As Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management at Touro University New York School of Career and Applied Studies (NYSCAS), she provides strategic leadership for academic operations, enrollment initiatives, student engagement, and institutional efforts that support student persistence, retention, and degree completion.
Bringing extensive experience in both teaching and administration, Dr. Maggs offers a holistic approach to higher education leadership. She is dedicated to creating inclusive learning environments that foster academic achievement, personal growth, and student engagement. Her work reflects a deep commitment to expanding educational opportunities and ensuring that students are equipped to achieve their academic and professional goals. She also values the critical role faculty play in shaping transformative learning experiences and fostering student development.
Dr. Maggs' scholarship focuses on college readiness, the first-year college experience, student persistence and retention, and the experiences of underserved and underprepared students in higher education. Her research has examined factors that influence student achievement and policies and practices that support successful educational outcomes.
She holds an Ed.D. from University College London, an M.A. in Modern Literature from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a B.A. in English, magna cum laude, from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Maggs has presented her research and professional work at national and international conferences and remains committed to advancing innovation, access, and excellence in higher education.
