Every year, students from around the world apply to NYSCAS.

In addition to providing a high quality, career-oriented, and affordable education, we offer a supportive and welcoming environment for international students.

International students with a high school diploma (or its equivalent) are welcome to study here. We offer rolling admissions throughout the year.

To apply, applicants must submit:

  • A completed admissions application
  • An Affidavit of Support
  • Proof of proficiency in English, such as a satisfactory score on the TOEFL examination
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent, and other evidence of qualifying for university study in their native country

Students without demonstrated proficiency in English may be admitted conditionally and required to complete a sequence of English language courses.

The Office of Admissions reviews documents received from international applicants throughout the year. Once accepted, you will receive all of the appropriate forms and information so you can begin your studies in the summer, fall, or spring semester.

Undergraduate-level international students who apply independently (not through a recruiter), have submitted an I-20, and are ineligible for financial aid may qualify for an International Student Exemption under the following terms*:

  • 15% Tuition Discount: Applicable per term until the completion of 24 credits.
  • 30% Tuition Discount: Applicable per term beginning the term after completing 24 credits.**

* Retroactive discounts will not be granted under any circumstances
**Discounts are applied on a per-term basis and are not calculated per credit. The 30% tuition discount will take effect starting with the term immediately following the completion of 24 credits.

Process: Following the conclusion of the add/drop period, the Bursar will identify registered undergraduate students with F1 or J1 visa codes in the Banner system and apply the corresponding exemption amount to the student’s account.

Foreign transcript evaluation

Students with foreign transcripts are generally required to have them translated and evaluated by a Touro-approved agency. A list of agencies is available from the Office of Admissions or the Office of the Registrar.
