Daneilla Mcewan
Future Nurse
September 16, 2017
Daneilla Mcewan hails from Guyana in South America. She moved to Brooklyn with her mother just as she began high school. “My mother wanted me to have a better education,” said Mcewan. The transition was difficult, Mcewan admitted. “In Guyana people are more open and friendlier.” Though when she returned to Guyana, she noticed that “I had become an American to my Guyanese friends.”
Her mother is also a NYSCAS student and offered to take her to the school. Afterwards, she met with an advisor and signed up for several classes. Eventually, Daneilla hopes to be either a nurse or a midwife. She is taking her core classes this semester and hopes to take some art classes as well.
