In addition to the regular NYSCAS admission requirements, those who wish to enroll in the Medical Imaging program must also meet certain technical standards and:

  1. Be at least eighteen (18) years old by December 31st of the admission year. 
  2. Graduate from an accredited high school or equivalent.
  3. Take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS V), formerly known as the Health Occupations Aptitude Examination (HObET). TEAS is a timed test administered by NYSCAS at the close of the admissions process (after March 31st). There is a testing fee that must be paid at the time of testing ($25 per student). Tests can be taken on a Sunday or during a weekday. The focus of the test is to assess a candidate’s knowledge of Reading, Mathematics, Science, as well as English and Language usage. 
  4. Applicants not possessing an Associate's Degree, AAS, must be able to complete the minimum degree requirements at Touro College.
  5. Take a Math and General Science test provided by the program.
  6. Pay a non-refundable $60.00 application. (See NYSCAS fee schedule for other applicable fees).

When filling out the application at

  1. Click on the Create Account tab and follow the on-screen instructions
  2. You will receive an applicant’s PIN# and Password
  3. Start your Medical Imaging Program Application
  4. You will start first with Personal Information, then click Save & Continue and it will bring you to the Academic Section
  5. In the Academic Plan Section choose the following options:
    1. Under Location, choose: Touro College
    2. Under College/School choose: Touro College New York School of Career & Applied Studies (NYSCAS)
    3. Under Degree Program:
      • If you want the program to become a Radiological Technologist choose Medical Imaging Sciences
        • Under Major/Dept. choose:
          • If you have a college degree choose: CER Medical Imaging Sciences
          • If you graduated from High School choose: AAS Medical Imaging Sciences
      • If you are a Radiological Technologist and want Advanced Courses choose Medical Imaging-Continuing Education
        • Under Major/Dept. choose from the pull-down menu to indicate your choice
  6. When asked if you intend to pursue a degree online choose: NO
  7. When asked if you intend to be a full-time student choose: YES
  8. Complete the following sections:
    • Legal Terms
    • Contact Information
    • Emergency Contact
    • Secondary/HS Academic Record
    • Post-Secondary Academic Record
  9. Download the Touro Immunization Form by following the on-screen instructions
  10. Provide the names of Three (3) recommenders
  11. Check that your application is complete by reviewing the PDF
  12. Proceed to the Credit Card Application fee payment
  13. Submit application

Transfer Credit Policy

Transfer credits are not accepted for any of the medical imaging courses. For all other liberal arts courses, the medical imaging program adheres to the Touro College Undergraduate Transfer Credit Policy.
