This seminar will prepare health care professionals in the safe use of contrast media and its potential adverse reactions.

The course offers 7-CEU credits/points, and is $200 if paid online in advance or $225 at the door.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Describe the Pharmacologic and Pharmacodynamic principles to contrast media
  • Classify contrast according to specific categories and give examples for each category
  • Explain the action, uses and side effects of contrast media
  • Describe the methods and techniques for administering various types of contrast media
  • Explain the current legal and ethical status of the radiographer’s role administration
  • Discuss the purpose and advantages of intravenous drug administration
  • Demonstrate appropriate venipuncture technique
  • Differentiate between the two major sits of intravenous drug administration
  • Identify, describe, the document complications associated with intravenous drug therapy and appropriate actions to resolve these complications
