How to Apply
Students must complete and submit a new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year they hope to receive assistance.
Students must be registered, and all documentation required by financial aid submitted to the financial aid office, before aid can be processed.
Step 1: File your Federal Income Tax Return
You must complete your federal income tax return for the current year before submitting a FAFSA.
If you are married and did not file jointly, your spouse's income information is also required. If you are not required to file a federal tax return provide verification of non-filing from IRS and your W2 form, if selected for verification.
Step 2: Create an FSA ID
With a unique FSA ID, you can apply for Financial Aid online. You only need to register once.
Step 3: Fill out a FAFSA on or after January 1st
Complete your FAFSA at www.FAFSA.ed.gov.

Step 4: Review your Student Aid Report (SAR) for errors
When you receive your Student Aid Report (SAR), make any corrections necessary. Provide the Financial Aid Office any required documentation as indicated on your SAR (e.g. citizenship or verification documentation).
Step 5: Review the Cost of Attendance (COA)
Review the COA to determine how much aid you will need to apply for.
Step 6: Complete the Financial Aid Packet & Student Loan Request Statement
Students interested in taking out Federal Student Loans should complete an MPN (Master Promissory Note) and entrance counseling on www.studentloans.gov. Contact your financial aid counselor after those steps have been completed.
Step 7: If needed, apply for additional aid
If you need additional aid to afford your education, you may consider applying for a Federal Plus loan or a private/alternative loan. We encourage students to consider this step only if it is absolutely necessary.
You can apply directly with your chosen lender for a Plus or private/alternative loan for the amount referenced on your COA. Use Touro College code 010142-00.
Step 8: Accept Awards
Once your aid has been processed, you will receive e-mail with instructions on how to access your account on NetPartner, where you can view all the awards offered. Please review it carefully. For those students who applied for federal student loans, they will need to access their accounts on NetParner to accept/decline their student loans.
Note:Loan funds will be disbursed directly to the College. Any anticipated refund of aid will be distributed by the Bursar's Office after satisfactory enrollment and academic progress has been verified. The Bursar can be contacted at (646) 565-6000, ext 55625.
